When I moved in April, I shopped around with various "shipping container" type companies. A friend of mine had used PODS, but when I called, I found their customer service to be pretentious and rude.
As my moving date got closer, everything was smooth and easy, even though we had to change delivery and pick-up dates.
When the container was delivered, not a single one of our items was damaged, and there was VERY limited shifting of stuff inside the unit, which was pretty impressive considering our unit was only 75% full. Just use tie-down straps every few feet and lots of rope!
The online reviews I read on Yelp about 1800packrat were terrifying, but I called anyway. When I did, the customer service was friendly, never pushy, and provided and the information I needed, nothing at all like the reviews. The reservation process was very easy, whether I was asking questions by phone or email.

Does not cover the Hilton head area. What better place to be for a moving company??
