I purchased my ring in Ca ( Best customer service I ever received at a Kay's) I moved here and had my ring soldered at this exact store in the Northwoods Mall, to have my band snap at the location of the Soldered location less than a month later.
Kays has lost both my business and my fiancé's business for different reasons but for now I'l talk about the lack of communication and the fact that something that breaks has to be sent off three times to get "foxed" before they bother to replace it. My fiancé bought me a necklace there probably 2.5 years ago and I wear it everyday and while taking it off about a month ago the chain popped and the next day I took it in to get fixed and was told I'd be emailed when it came in, I was NEVER emailed. I went in to see if it came in and it was there, took it and went home. Maybe two days later the chain popped AGAIN so I took it back to be told it has to break three times in order for them to replace the chain and I sent it off again. Before sending it off both times they got mine and my fiancé's contact information and was told they'd email me when it was in (Nov. 30). Neither one of us have received an email about the chain (we both checked our junk/spam) and I stopped by today to see if it came in and it was in (still no email). You can see where they "fixed" the break in the chain and I'm sure I will be stopping back by before the end of the week with the chain broke for the THIRD time. I suggest for anyone in the Charleston area to just go over the bridge on over to Diamond Directs next to Towne Center; better customer service and better jewelry.
This is not all but I will not go on. DO NOT Spend your money HERE especially at This specific STORE. YOU will regret it garenteed..
I've been to this location several times. I've bought many things & even had jewelry repaired. I have a wedding set that I bought some where else that doesn't have warranty. I brought it here to have my rings rhodium plated because the white gold was fading. Each time that I've went I was told that my diamonds were loose and it needed to be repaired. (The last three years) I've consented each time and paid for it be fixed. Now let's rewind to about six months ago....I was told once again when I brought my ring for a cleaning that the diamonds were loose. I was so upset to hear that since I've paid twice to have it repaired by them. I try my best not hit my rings on anything but accidents do happen. Well just yesterday I went to a different store to buy a white gold chain. I also asked them about rings since I never had it fixed and they still need the rhodium plate to be done.....come to find out it wasn't loose. Two different people checked!!!!! I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK TO THIS STORE AGAIN!!! They can't not be trusted and take advantage of people! Please go some where else before and get a second opinion before sending your jewelry off.
I was falsely notified that my order was in 3 times and it wasn’t. No more than 2 people working at a time in my experience and absolutely horrible customer service. They made us wait 40 minutes just to check my order (which took 30 seconds). I do not recommend Kay jewelers for your shopping experience at all.
Hello. I am writing to express my concern and frustration in regards to an employee's comment at the Northwoods mall located in North Charleston, South Carolina. I was unable to catch this employees name but he was one of two gentleman working today, January 7th, around 5pm and his demeanor made it seem as if he was management. I entered the store today to have my engagement and wedding ring (originally purchased at a Jared's) cleaned and inspected. The gentleman who assisted me was pleasant when approaching me and quickly took my rings to start the inspection. While entering my information into the commuter system he asked how long I had been married which I replied 5 years. He then stated "It's time for an upgrade then." This statement was unprofessional and disrespectful to not only myself but also my husband. I can understand the store employees are supposed to up-sell and attempt to make sales but this was not the proper method. This employee needs to understand that to some the ring is a symbol of love and commitment. That love and commitment is not measured by the size or value of a ring. The statement was extremely disrespectful to myself and my husband. My ring is valued over 3K and was beautifully created by my husband. Should I feel less love or valued in my relationship since we can't afford to upgrade (not that we have any intention to do such)? If he intended to sell me another product he should have suggested shopping for a different item such as a necklace or bracelet to celebrate our upcoming anniversary. My husband is active duty military and my rings represent more than a monetary value, they represent a promise, a commitment, and the will power to persevere through 3 deployments. Please educate this employee about the other values of a piece of jewelry and better ways to serve customers.
I then took my ring in over 5 weeks ago. It has been sent out 4 times because every time it comes back it is not unsoldered. ( one Job! Unsolder my ring!) Today I call corporate. They don't understand the reason it is not unsoldered but yet still want me to give them another chance at the same store to mess up again and do not tell me what will be done if it once again is not complete. ( How does this company survive?) They have my exact ring in store and I have FULL Coverage on my Solitare and they will not exchange it.
Horrible horrible store. This stores employees will tell you whatever it is you want to hear and then deny all of it, even if you call corporate.
