Our National rental experience in Charleston, SC, was as easy and positive a car rental experience as any I have EVER had - and I've been renting cars for a long time. Friendly and efficient from the word go - front counter, parking lot attendant, car condition, car return - all truly exceptional. (Just in case you think this testimonial is too positive to be true, let me assure you that I am just a 67-year old average Joe traveler - but one who really appreciates good service on the rare occasions that it shows up!)
Excellent customer service. Prompt. Helpful. Courteous. I had no reservation on my arrival. No problem, they fixed me right up. The Charleston-based National Car Rental folks were as nice and friendly as all of the other folks in that city, which is really saying something because the folks in that town were all unusually nice.
Excellent service from beginning to end. Good price for an upgraded vehicle with a warm welcome from both employees with whom we dealt. I travel to Charleston regularly and National is by far the best car rental company there.
My experience with National could have been better as it has in the past. Maybe because it was in Charleston, SC. Agent at the desk gave me 3-4 choices on which SUV I wanted so I picked one. When I walk over to look for the car, which was about 500 feet away, the agent at the lot told me it was dirty and he would get me different SUV. He comes back after about 15 min and gives me a sedan. I clearly told him I wanted another SUV and asked why I didn't get one. He said there were none left. I saw some on the lot but I have a feeling he lied. He didn't want to walk all the way back to the main counter to get a new car. He said there no other full size left. I wasn't happy. The car worked fine but I had a couple of other coworkers with me and we had a long drive ahead so I didn't argue. I'd say to National that you should train you people at CHS airport to have better customer service.
I am very pleased with National. They truly value their customers and take customer service seriously. I was also given my first upgrade ever which made the experience even more enjoyable.
