I gave two stars only because the cut suited my needs, hair straightening aside.
I booked an appointment with Salis for feeding braids and I absolutely love my hair. The shop was very clean and the ladies were very professional. Everywhere I go, someone compliments me on my hair. I will most definitely be going back.
Not a good experience.
This was not a good experience for me.
I wanted my natural hair cut, and she flat ironed it to cut it. There was NO warning to me that she was putting heat on my hair. That's really not what you do to people with natural hair. A skilled stylist can cut hair straight or curly / natural textured, and she should not have straightened my hair, or she should have at least told me she was going to...in which case, I would have gone somewhere else.
I got there a couple of minutes before my appointment time, and no one greeted me when I walked in -- not to say, "Hi, have a seat." Not to say, "We'll be with you in a moment." Nothing. And I sat there for 45 minutes (while she finished up another client) before she greeted me. She then proceeds to do my hair as I'm trying to engage with her to tell her about my hair and my hair needs; she didn't seem to be concerned about my hair needs as she did very little engaging with me.
